The actor Tom Hains will take the stage at a new Disney World attraction celebrating the life of one of the most iconic Disney characters, “The Princess and the Frog.”
The attraction, which is being built in collaboration with Disney Imagineers, will take guests on an interactive journey to explore and interact with the world’s first-ever interactive ride experience featuring a voiceover, animated graphics, and live music.
The ride will open in 2019 and will be called “A Celebration of the Life of The Princess and The Frog,” according to a press release from Disney Imagineer and Imagineering Group Chair David Zaslavsky.
“The Princess & The Frog is an incredibly important, iconic Disney icon and we’re thrilled to be part of this celebration of the life and legacy of The Frog.
It’s a perfect fit for a park that has been so instrumental in the development of Disney-themed experiences at our parks,” said Zaslovsky.
“The first-of-its-kind interactive attraction in the world, ‘A Celebration’ will include an interactive world map that allows guests to explore every aspect of the world and engage with the characters through interactive voiceovers, animated graphic design, live music and interactive interactive storytelling.”
Hains and “The Frog” co-star Michael Gambon are both nominated for Oscars this year for their roles as Gaston and Garp in the Disney animated feature “Frozen.”
Hain previously made his stage debut as the voice of the titular frog in the 2012 film “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and is best known for starring in “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 7th Dimension,” which also won Best Animated Feature at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards.
He was previously nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of the title character in the 2015 film “Camelot.”
The new attraction is scheduled to open in 2020.
