The number of celebrities who have died of cancer has more than doubled since 2010, with at least 12 more confirmed deaths today.
Celebrities with the most recent confirmed deaths include:Maggie Gyllenhaal (31), Jennifer Lawrence (30), Emily Blunt (30) and Jessica Chastain (29).
The number of confirmed deaths of women in the US has more recently risen, with seven deaths today compared to just four in the same time last year.
The number is also up from just four deaths in the past three years.
Some celebrities have been confirmed dead by relatives or friends, but the cause of death has not been confirmed.
A number of stars, including Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato and Jennifer Lopez have died from cancer.
In total, at least 11 celebrities died of the disease this year, including three from cancer: Alicia Keys, Brit Marling, Gwyneth Paltrow and Britney Williams.
